2. Your Platform Environment
Your Terrascope environment has been pre-configured for the Banyan Group Proof of Concept. Here is what has already been set up for you and what you should and should not interact with during the PoC.
Read-only: Sample data campaigns (do not modify)
The following campaigns contain pre-loaded sample data for your reference. Please browse but do not upload or change anything within these:
Banyan Group POC
Banyan Group Evidence (2024)
Banyan Group Evidence (2025)
Use these campaigns to upload and test data
These campaigns are your working environment for testing all data upload features:
FOR 2024 DATA Use the campaign: Banyan Group POC Test - 2024 |
FOR 2025 DATA Use the campaign: Banyan Group POC Test - 2025 |
Within each campaign, click into individual tasks to upload data for a specific scope category using either the template format or single data entry.
Modules included in the PoC environment
The following features are available in your demo environment:
Measurement & Data Collection
Emissions Dashboards & Analytics
Advanced Analytics
Data Review & Verification
MODULES NOT INCLUDED IN THIS POC The following modules are part of the Terrascope platform but are not included in your current proposal or demo environment: Land Sector & Removals, Supplier Management, Reduction Planning, Climate Program, and Reporting (currently in beta expected mid Q2). |
3. Step-by-Step Platform Guide
Follow these five steps in order to complete your first full data cycle on the platform from setup through to verified, reportable emissions data.
Set up your organisation structure |
The Organisation Structure defines how your company is organised within Terrascope for example, by region, department, or facility. This structure determines how your emissions data is grouped and reported.
ALREADY DONE FOR YOU We have already configured your organisation structure based on your PoC requirements. You do not need to create a new one right now. We recommend reviewing the existing setup before making any changes. |
WHEN WOULD I NEED TO CHANGE THIS? If your company structure changes such as adding a new business unit or location you would update this here. Your Terrascope project team will assist you when that is needed. |
STEP 2 | Create a data campaign |
A Data Campaign is how Terrascope collects sustainability data in an organised, programmatic way. Think of it as a structured request sent out to your team to submit specific data for a defined time period.
ALREADY DONE FOR YOU A data campaign has already been set up for your team to explore straight away. If you wish to create additional campaigns in future, watch the training video below. |
WHAT DOES A DATA CAMPAIGN INCLUDE? It specifies what data to collect (e.g., energy use, waste, travel), the reporting time period, and who is responsible for submitting each category. |
STEP 3 | Enter data manually using forms |
For individual data points, your team can enter information directly using forms within the platform. Each form corresponds to a specific emissions category (called a scope) or an operational data type.
EXAMPLES OF WHAT YOU MIGHT ENTER Cage-free eggs (hen, quail, or duck) quantities, gross floor area in square metres, energy consumption, refrigerant use, business travel or any other operational input specific to your business. |
WHO SHOULD DO THIS? Your sustainability or business group (BG) team members who are responsible for specific data categories. Each person fills in the relevant form for their area of responsibility. |
STEP 4 | Upload data in bulk |
Instead of entering data one record at a time, you can upload multiple records at once using a file. This is useful when you have large datasets for example, monthly energy bills or procurement records across many locations.
TWO SUPPORTED FORMATS You can upload files using the standard Terrascope template format, or in the BG format you have already been using. There is no need to reformat your existing data. |
WHERE TO FIND THIS FEATURE Navigate to your data campaign, then look for the task labelled "Multiple Data Upload". The training video walks through the full upload process step by step. |
HAVING TROUBLE WITH UPLOADS? A dedicated troubleshooting guide for common data upload errors is attached to this document as: Terrascope Data Upload Error Troubleshooting Guide. |
STEP 5 | Review, verify, and release data |
Once data is uploaded, the sustainability team reviews it before it feeds into reports and dashboards. This step ensures accuracy and gives you the opportunity to add context to each data entry.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING REVIEW? You can check the emissions factors (EFs) assigned to each entry and update them if needed. You can also tag data with attributes such as department, product line, or region to enable more detailed analysis later. |
HOW DO I FINALISE DATA? Once you are satisfied with the review, mark the data as Verified. This releases it to automatically update your sustainability reports and dashboards. |
STEP 6 | Review dashboards & emission analytics |
Once your data has been verified and released, it flows automatically into the Terrascope dashboards and Emission Analytics page. This is where your sustainability team can track performance, explore emissions trends, and monitor progress against targets.
What you will find in the Emission Dashboard
A summary of your total Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions across all business units and locations
Year-on-year comparisons showing how emissions have changed over time
Breakdowns by category, scope, and organisational entity
Visual trend charts for quick interpretation by leadership and sustainability teams
What you will find in Emission Analytics
A deeper analytical view of your emissions data with filtering and slicing by attributes
The ability to drill down by region, facility, department, product line, or any tag applied during data review
Exportable views for use in internal reporting and stakeholder communications
HOW TO NAVIGATE TO DASHBOARDS From the main navigation menu, select Dashboards. The Emission Overview dashboard will load by default. Use the left-hand menu to switch between different dashboard views. |
HOW TO NAVIGATE TO EMISSION ANALYTICS From the main navigation menu, select Emission Analytics. Use the filters at the top to select your reporting period, scope category, and organisational level. |
DATA MUST BE VERIFIED FIRST Dashboards only reflect data that has been through the Step 5 review and verification process. If you do not see expected data, check that it has been marked as Verified in the data campaign. |
STEP 7 | Access custom reports via Advanced Analytics |
Advanced Analytics is where all of Banyan Group’s custom reporting requirements from the PoC are delivered. This feature goes beyond the standard dashboards and allows your team to access, build, and export tailored views of your emissions data.
IMPORTANT ALL POC CUSTOM REPORTS LIVE HERE Every custom report requested by Banyan Group as part of this PoC has been built and is available within Advanced Analytics. You do not need to build these from scratch. Navigate to Advanced Analytics to find them ready to use. |
Custom reports available for Banyan Group
The following reports have been built and are available in Advanced Analytics, mapped to Banyan Group sustainability targets and PoC requirements:
Data / Scope | Target | Metrics tracked in Advanced Analytics |
Scope 1 & Scope 2 | 42% absolute reduction of Scope 1 + 2 by 2030 |
|
Water | 30% of water sourced from recycling or alternative sources from community catchments by 2030 |
|
Waste | 50% reduction of landfilled waste by 2030 |
|
Scope 3 – Purchased Goods | — |
|
Scope 3 – Capital Goods (Construction BOQ) | — |

How to access and use your custom reports
Step 1 From the main navigation, select Advanced Analytics.
Step 2 You will see the pre-built dashboards listed. Click on any report name to open it.
Step 3 Use the filter panel at the top to select your time period, entity, scope, or category.
Step 4 To export a report, click the Export button (top right of the visualisation) and select CSV, XLSX, or PDF.
Step 5 To create a new custom visualisation, click Add Visualisation and follow the on-screen builder.
CAN I MODIFY THE PRE-BUILT REPORTS? Yes. You can edit any existing visualisation or create new ones alongside the pre-built reports. Any changes you make are saved to your account and do not affect other users. See Section 4 for GoodData documentation links. |
EXPORTING FOR EXTERNAL REPORTING All visualisations can be exported to CSV, XLSX, or PDF. This is useful for sustainability reports, board packs, or ESG disclosures. Use the Export button on each visualisation. |
