Getting Started: Creating Your First Reduction Project

Welcome to Reduction Planning! This guide will walk you through creating your first project to manage and track your carbon reduction initiatives.

Step 1: Navigate to Projects

From the left-hand navigation, click on 'Reduction Planning' to expand the menu, then select 'Projects'.

Step 2: Initiate Project Creation

On the 'Projects' page, you will see an option to 'Create Project' or similar. Follow the steps outlined: '1. Create Project', '2. Milestones', '3. Action Planning'.

Step 3: Select Simulations

In the 'Create Project' step, you will be presented with a list of 'Available Simulations'. These are simulations that you or your sustainability team members have created (note that only completed simulations will appear here). Review the 'Selected Simulations Summary' to understand the aggregated impact of currently chosen simulations.

  • Search and Filter: Use the search bar and filters ('All Emission Types', 'All Years') to find relevant simulations. You can also 'Sort by' different criteria.

  • Select Simulations: Check the box next to each simulation you want to include in your project. The 'Selected Simulations Summary' will update dynamically.

Step 4: Define Milestones

Proceed to the 'Milestones' step where you will define key achievements for your project.

Step 5: Plan Actions

Move to the 'Action Planning' step to break down your project into specific, actionable tasks.

Applied levers from the selected simulations will be imported as actions. Alternatively, you can add and rename actions (see this article for details) to translate details into actionable tasks easily understood by stakeholders and suppliers.

Once all steps are completed, your project will be created and ready for progress tracking!
