Step 1: Navigate to Data Templates
From the main navigation menu, click on 'Supplier Management' and then select 'Data Templates'.
Step 2: Create required columns
Once on the Data Templates page, click the 'Column Library' tab located on the left side of the screen., and click on '+ New Column'.
Step 3: Add Your First Column
Here you will define the first data point you want to collect.
Step 4: Define Column Label and Key
Enter a user-friendly 'Label' for your column (e.g., 'SKU ID'). The 'Key' will automatically populate but can be edited for internal use (e.g., 'sku_id').
Step 5: Select Data Type
Choose the appropriate data 'Type' for your column from the dropdown menu (e.g., Text, Number, Percentage (0-100), Date). This determines how suppliers can input data and what validations will apply.
Step 6: Configure Column Properties
Based on your selected 'Type', additional configuration options will appear. For example, for a 'Number' type, you can set 'Min length' and 'Max length'. For a 'Dropdown' type, you'll enter the possible values in the 'Choices' field.
Step 7: Apply Conditional Logic (Optional)
You can set 'Conditional Logic' if this column only needs a value when another column has a value. This helps in creating dynamic and smart templates.
Step 8: Create the Column
Once you've configured all settings for the column, click 'Create Column'. You can then repeat this process to add more columns to your template.
Step 9: Create a Template
in the Data Templates page, click on the 'Templates' tab on the top left hand corner of the page. Then click on '+ New Templates'.
Provide a name and description (optional) for your template
Click on 'Add Columns'.
Here, select one or more columns to include in the template. Hold down the 'Shift' button to select multiple consecutive fields, or use the 'select all' button to select all columns.
Once all the desired columns have been selected, click on 'Add Columns'.
Use the up and down arrows, or hold and drag to re-order the columns. Entries at the top will appear on the left of the template.
To include any pre-filled data, add the selected fields in the '+ Add prefill field' column. Refer to this article to learn about configuring fields.
Tags and Direct supplier assignment suggestions are intended to help with the distribution process later, tag templates as necessary to include them as suggestions during the distribution step.
Step 10: Save and Publish Your Template
After adding all necessary columns, save your template. You can save it as a 'draft' to continue working on it later, or 'publish' it to make it available for use in data collection tasks.
