This article outlines how to create and manage custom fields for SKUs, which can then be populated individually or in bulk.
Step 1: Navigate to SKU Custom Fields
From the main navigation, select Supplier Management > SKUs. Then, click on the Custom Fields tab to access the custom field management interface.
Step 2: Add a New Custom Field
In the Field name input box, type the desired name for your new custom field (e.g., 'Nylon content'). Use the Type dropdown to select the appropriate data type (e.g., 'Text', 'Number').
Check the 'Required' checkbox if this field must always have a value. Click the + Add field button to add it to your list of custom fields.
Step 3: Review Existing Custom Fields
You can see all currently defined custom fields, their types, and if they are required. Examples include 'OU' (Text), 'Global Vendor ID' (Number), and 'Plant description' (Text).
Step 4: Delete a Custom Field
To remove a custom field, click the trash can icon next to the field name. Be cautious, as deleting a field will remove it and its values from all SKUs.
Step 5: Understanding Custom Field Impact
Once defined, these custom fields will appear in:
The individual SKU side panel for manual entry.
The bulk upload template for bulk data population (as shown in KB-1). Values populated via bulk upload will override or fill these fields for the respective SKUs.
