Reviewing and Approving Reports for Managers/Reviewers

As a Manager or Reviewer, you play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of your organization's environmental reports. This guide will help you navigate the review process.

Step 1: Access a Section Awaiting Review

You will be notified when an Editor submits a section for your review. Navigate to the specific project and question in the 'Reporting' section, similar to how an Editor would. The status of the section will likely show it as 'Submitted for Review'.

Step 2: Review the Drafted Response and Guidance

Carefully read the drafted response provided by the Editor. Compare it against the 'Terrascope Guidance' on the right side of the screen to ensure all requirements of the reporting standard are met. Pay attention to the linked source documents.

Step 3: Provide Feedback or Approve

After your review, you have three options:

  • Edit: If minor changes are needed, you can click 'Edit' to make them directly. Be sure to save your changes.

  • Request Changes: If the response requires significant revisions, click 'Request Changes'. You will likely be prompted to add comments explaining what needs to be changed. This will send the section back to the Editor.

  • Accept: If the response is complete and accurate, click 'Accept'. This marks the section as approved and moves it forward in the reporting workflow.

Step 4: Monitor Section Status

Keep an eye on the status indicators (Editor, Manager, Reviewer) and user avatars to track the progress of different sections within the report. This helps you understand who is responsible for the next step.
